Keep Active Week 2024

Keep Active Week 2024

On your marks, get set go! 🚀

Our Savient Limited keep active weeks are back for 2024 and we are encouraging everyone in the team to take time out of their busy schedules and think about their well-being and keeping active during the week from Monday 19th February 2024 until Sunday 25th February 2024.

Our keep active week started three years ago and it’s great to see the whole team, extended family members and four legged friends get involved year on year.

What is the aim of the keep active week?

Last year we achieved 390 miles during the week as a team but this year we are focusing on how much time we spend keeping active. Thanks to Anoop Kaushalfor creating our very own keep active tracking website so we can update the team on our progress, share photos of recent activities, motivate each other and contribute to the keep active weekly total. It’s important to remember that it is also about improving our well-being and exercising whilst keeping active. Our dedicated team of highly talented software professionals work hard and most days collaborating on software solutions while sat most days at a laptop so even more of an excuse to take time out from their busy day and focus on their well-being.

Why is it important?

Doing regular physical activity reduces your risk of having a heart attack or developing heart disease.  Keeping active helps to control common disease risk factors including:

🧡high blood pressure

🧡high cholesterol

🧡being overweight

Being physically active during the week is very important for your physical and mental health. Any amount of physical activity, however small is good for you.  Enjoying a walk, jog, run, cycle or swim are great ways to clear your head and stay active and activities you can enjoy with family and friends.  Fresh air and sunshine can help to improve sleep, give you energy and improve your overall health including reducing stress and depression.

We are going to be raising money for Cheltenham based charity Move More and we will tell you all about them tomorrow. But for today the biggest decision for the Savient Limitedteam is beanie hat with or without a bobble. Which beanie hat do you prefer? Thanks Chani Martin, Marketing and Merchandise for sourcing our beanie hats and keep an eye out for the Savient Limitedteam around Cheltenham this week on various team walks from the office.
