Savient Academy 2023 complete

Congratulations to Rachel, Kane, and Kenechi for completing the Savient Academy 2023.

The Savient Academy is an internal mentoring scheme we have run for the last few years for individuals to develop their software engineering career pathway with Savient through mentoring, training, and hands-on experience.

The latest academy had 26 different training sessions, run by 15 different knowledgeable and talented experts from within Savient - we are proud that half the members of the Savient team wanted to share their experience and knowledge to help further develop their skills and support them with their career.

The training sessions covered technical aspects including Java, Linux, JavaScript, Testing, Databases - all starting at an introductory level and often expanding and deepening with subsequent sessions thorough the year as well as other important aspects such as agile working practices and problem-solving approaches.

These sessions were often attended by other Savient employees, giving everyone a chance to learn from someone within Savient that has the practical experience and knowledge that we recognise as being valuable.

Along with the training sessions, the Academy members were given dedicated time each week to work on a project for our outreach activities which was also mentored and supported by members of Savient, and all the projects will continue to be developed for use at future outreach events.

The Academy is just one of the ways we at Savient support people’s careers along with training, conferences, innovation time and mentoring.
