We’re thrilled to have George join the Savient Limited team for his industry placement year as part of his Computer Science degree at the University of Gloucestershire! 💻🎓

At Savient Limited, this is the first time we have had the opportunity to support a student through industry placement year. The industry placement year provides valuable real-world experience that complements their academic studies. Industry placement years are an incredible opportunity for students to apply the knowledge they've gained in the classroom to practical challenges, build professional networks, and gain the hands-on experience needed to kickstart their careers.

During his placement with us, George is working on a variety of exciting projects, gaining exposure to key technical areas such as:

💻Java, Linux, JavaScript

💻Agile working practices

💻Testing, Databases, and Big Data

It’s been fantastic to see George apply his academic learning to real-world problems, while also developing important professional skills like teamwork, problem-solving, and time management. George has focused on developing and enhancing our outreach STEM workshop and recently joined the product team and working on Savitrace.

We strongly believe in the value of industry placements as they provide students like George with the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals, gain insight into industry practices, and build the confidence needed to succeed in the tech field after graduation.
